When it comes to manufacturer-provided cell phone insurance, the two main players are Apple and Samsung.
All iPhones come protected by Apple’s complimentary warranty known as AppleCare, which covers defects and mechanical failures and includes 90 days of phone support. However, you can opt into AppleCare’s more robust protection plans until 60 days after purchase. Each plan lasts 24 months and repairs can take place in-store, with an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or by mailing your iPhone to an Apple Repair Center.
